Deacon Philip Moore is Catholic Charities of West Tennessee’s Interim Vice-President. Prior to CCWTN, he worked for International Paper Company. Deacon Moore retired in 2009 after 38 years of service. His background with IP was Accounting and Financial Systems. Receiving a call to serve the Diocese of Memphis in an ordained capacity, he began a five year journey to be ordained a Deacon. He completed his studies and was ordained in May of 2016. He currently serves the people of Saint Brigid Catholic Church in Memphis. His experience in working with non-profits spans 18 years. Project Outreach, a project for the poor of Fayette County was started by a Franciscan Nun, Sister Elaine Wicks. In 1998, she was diagnosed with cancer and had to return to her Mother House. Sister Elaine asked his wife Shona, to take over the project. He and his wife continue to work with Project Outreach to date. His love for the poor and marginalized goes hand in hand with CCWTN and his Diaconate ministry.
