Make a Difference: Volunteer

3 Ways To Make A Difference

1. Volunteer with one or more of our programs
  • We have volunteer opportunities with our food pantry, Clothes Closet, mobile food outreaches, Bouquets of Hope, Saint Bernard's Biscuits, Grocery Getters, Saint Sebastian Veterans Services, and Immigration Services.
  • We also have a need for volunteers to help with driving, inventorying donations, and data entry.
  • Ask us to design a role for you.

2. Participate in our quarterly Volunteer Saturdays

  • Four times each year a large group gathers on a Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. to complete a structured project.
  • Huge tasks typically are completed in the short three hours thanks to the large number of volunteers.
  • A perfect volunteer opportunity for families and large groups!
  • 2015 dates are: April 25, July 18, September 19 and December 12.
    • July 18th: Sort a huge clothing donation from Fred's, clean and organize gym

    • September 19:
      • Adults/teens- transition Clothes Closet from Spring/Summer clothes to Fall/Winter clothes
      • Young families' project- prepare a gift to give mothers at Christmas

3. Gather your friends, co-workers, or fellow parishioners to support Catholic Charities of West Tennessee
Consider sponsoring a donation drive such as:

  • Food drive for our homeless "walking bags" -We particularly need single serve items that require no refrigeration such as Ensure, Vienna sausages, bottled water, granola bars, etc.
  • Gift drive for Gifts for God's children – Give joy to children and seniors in need this Holiday season. We always need new children's clothes and toys such as: bikes, balls, dolls, books, board games. We also need donations of robes, slippers, toiletries, and clothes for seniors.
  • Vase drive for Bouquets of Hope
  • Men's clothing drive - We are continually in need of men's clothes, shoes, and underwear
  • Diaper Drive
