Catholic Charities is extending its fight against hunger to the elderly and the developmentally disabled by partnering with Meritan, a Memphis-based social services organization that operates group homes for this population, in addition to other services.
Catholic Charities will share it resource of Kroger gift cards with care mangers involved with 12 residents in Meritan homes, allowing them to buy more eggs, milk, meat and bread for the residents monthly.
This extends the ongoing partnership of Catholic Charities with Meritan. Catholic Charities has long served as a site for Meritan’s senior job training program, which offers low-income seniors 55 or older a temporary work training experience at community based organizations and public agencies.
We are proud to collaborate with this agency and seek support to make this an ongoing nutrition program.
