Moving forward as the Body of Christ

A message from our Executive Director, Richard C. “Dick” Hackett

Published October 24, 2018

I wanted all to know that I had the opportunity to meet with our Interim Bishop, Archbishop Joseph Kurtz from Louisville. He will serve until the Holy Father appoints a permanent Bishop to our West Tennessee Diocese. I found the Archbishop to be open and frank. He certainly seems to be a gifted leader who understands our difficult times. He has a history of being Director of a Catholic Charities.

I join with Archbishop Kurtz in prayer for our future and in thanks for Bishop Holley and his ministry. Now Bishop Emeritus Holley will be moving from our community with our prayers.

I pray, and urge all to pray, for our church and to remember that we are all part of the Body of Christ. The past is the past and to harbor ANY bitterness or to make comments that are not helpful for any reason will not be part of our Memphis Catholic Charities.

In service and prayer,
