Parish Social Ministry is a coordinated effort to merge Scripture and the Catholic theology of the Option for the Poor and Vulnerable into meaningful and practical activities in West Tennessee. The goal is to help our Church and the community at large translate these principles into concrete action.
These efforts are guided by a sub-commitee of the Catholic Charities Board of Directors which meets bi-monthly to develop strategy and annual goals.
While this sometimes happens in parishes, the intent is that parishioners act on the Option for the Poor and Vulnerable in every life setting. Further, it is the work of all God’s people everywhere vs. a committee or designated ministry.
